Eccentric Props steal the show!
Maximalism is back and better than ever. Gucci FW18 fashion show in Milan had jaw dropping clothes, but what really turned heads was the props. There was everything from dragons and snakes to actual heads of the models that held them.
“For this collection, I had in mind something ultra-natural, something hybrid,” Alessandro Michele, Creative Director
The Gucci show was held in a “operating room”.
The special visual effects house Makinarium states: “The concept reflects the work of a designer—the act of cutting, splicing and reconstructing materials and fabrics to create a new personality and identity with them. The materials used are typical of an operating room and the environment around it: PVC on the walls and floors, fire doors with panic-bars, LED lamps, and plastic chairs like those in a waiting room. The LED lighting is stark, white and blinding. “
Not only was everything bejeweled from head to toe, but ski masks were a common accessory worn down the runway. Gucci also payed tribute to the New York Yankees and the LA Dodgers in some of their styles.
Gucci definitely gave us enough content until next season!
